Rich & Bold
Kent Rasmussen truly believes that the North Coast has the perfect terroir for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. He spent years searching the appellation for the best “vineyards farmed by really engaged farmers who value quality above all else”. For this wine, most of the fruit comes from Sonoma, but there are a couple vineyard lots from Napa Valley, and Lake County as well.
This Cabernet smells like cherries and red currant, vanilla, hazelnut and subtle undertones of spices. These are carried forward to the palate with bright, rich fruit flavour with plenty of soft tannins.
Grayson Chardonnay
California
United States
The folksy country crowd and top critics agree: Grayson’s Chardonnay has been a gold-medallist at California’s state fair and a wine that Robert Parker named to his list of top California value wines for 11 consecutive years. A cozy, clean, creamy, bright wine that deserves a place at your table. Brilliantly ripe, showing brisk acidity and good minerality with notes of pineapple and apricot.
We are allowing BYOB to join the tasting with options below (registration required).

We launched the KIWI Private Credit Fund in 2017 to provide Canadian investors access to this high yielding, rapidly growing asset class. Kiwi Private Credit Fund has been profitable every month since inception.

He managed a portfolio of structured credit investments, specifically slices of portfolios of middle market loans. Dan served on the bank’s Investment Committee, Asset/Liability Committee and as an active member of the senior executive team.
From 2001 to 2006, he was the Head of Credit Portfolio Management for National Bank of Canada. He managed the bank’s $4 billion portfolio of corporate loans and was responsible for maximizing the risk-adjusted return on the portfolio. Dan established the bank’s centralized Credit Portfolio Management function and sat on the Deals Committee, which reviewed and adjudicated every corporate loan. New measurements of bank-wide loan value were introduced that enabled efficient capital allocation decisions. Advanced portfolio-level risk models were implemented to identify industry and geographic risks, which were then hedged using an overlay of credit default swaps.

Dr. Fisman COVID19 Update Series: The Turning Point & Surprising Connections Across the Globe
Overview
Join us for the 6th instalment of our fireside chat between James Burron (President, CAASA) and Dr. David Fisman (Professor of Epidemiology, University of Toronto).
Everyone has read/viewed a copious amount of news and views about COVID-19 over the last 9 months and in this, installment of Dr. David Fisman’s talks on the disease and its effect on the world we will delve into the next legs of it and how to keep one’s head in the game.
First, we will discuss his well-researched point of Peak COVID (hint: it’s in 2021) and how the world might change (or evolve) going forward.
Second, Dr. Fisman will illustrate and explain the dispersion of infectious diseases in various populations that one might otherwise see as simply spurious correlations. (Knowing this might make doing the ‘right thing’ easier as it shows how an ounce of prevention and common sense really does block transmissions.)
This session is open for all members of CAASA. If you are with a member company, please contact us for access to the registration page as a member.
