This includes a $3B+ development pipeline with over 4,500 units of student housing and multi-family apartments, as well as Forum’s flagship fund the Forum Real Estate Income and Impact Fund (REIIF), valued at $2.4M and holds over 4,200 rental housing units including over 10,000 beds.

Before joining Forum, Aly served as the Executive Vice President of Investments & Asset Management at Hullmark, a private urban real estate investor and developer in Downtown Toronto and was instrumental in the firm’s AUM growth by 15x to $1B in 7 years. During his tenure, Aly led partnership formations with Sun Life Investment Management, First Capital REIT and OCAD University.

Over the course of his career, Aly has developed experience in all major real estate asset classes and has been involved with principal investments valued at more than $6 billion. He has also led a variety of functions including investments, development, asset management and operations.

In addition to his professional experience, Aly has been involved in a number of board positions and advocacy roles. He was the President of the NAIOP Greater Toronto Chapter in 2022, one of the commercial real estate industry’s largest advocacy groups, and served as a board member for 6 years. Aly currently serves as a member of OCAD University’s Board of Governors, Physical Resources and Capital Assets Committee (“PRCAC”) and the Joint Board and Senate Liaison subcommittee.

Prior to joining Coller Capital in April 2022, Jake spent 25 years at UBS where he led the Private Markets effort within UBS Global Wealth Management, based in London. Prior to that Jake co-founded and co-led the Private Funds Group within UBS Investment Bank, based in New York.

He previously worked at Freshfields in London where he qualified as a solicitor working in the Tax Team with a focus on collective investment schemes.

Jake has a degree in Law (LLB) from the University of Bristol.

Greg Kalil is the founder and Managing Partner of Stormont Partners, a Toronto based merchant bank with a strong focus on emerging alternatives in real assets.

One of Stormont’s first investments is Glengarry Farm Finance, an alternative lending business focused on providing transitional funding to Canadian farmers who are temporarily unable to access the mainstream banking system. Greg serves as Glengarry’s CEO, and is a lead investor in the Glengarry Funding LP, an open-ended partnership that provides the capital for Glengarry’s lending activities.

Greg has over 30 years of experience in real estate, infrastructure and renewable power investment and investment banking. Before founding Stormont, Greg spent 12 years as a Managing Partner at Brookfield Financial, the investment banking arm of Brookfield Asset Management. As head of their Canadian platform and a member of the global management committee, Greg created and led the firm’s Structured Transactions, Public Sector Advisory and Healthcare Real Estate practices.

Prior to Brookfield, Greg co-founded Cornerstone Commercial Realty, which was ultimately acquired by TD Securities where Greg subsequently worked in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group.

In the past, Greg has served on the boards of the Federation of Rental Housing Providers of Ontario, Toronto Community Housing (Chair of Investment and Development Committees), Holy Trinity School, and Trellis Housing Initiatives (Chair), a non-for-profit developer of affordable housing for underhoused single parents.

Greg presently sits on the boards of the Innis College Expansion Capital Campaign and Noozhoo Nokiiyan Limited Partnership (Chair of Investment Committee), the economic development arm of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, and Voyageur Services, a construction services company focused on the nuclear power sector in Ontario.

David Vankka

Mr. Vankka joined ICM as a partner in 2017 and leads ICM’s diversified private equity platform. Mr. Vankka has 30 years of experience in investment banking, trading, and capital markets. He has been a Managing Director at several investment banks with extensive advisory experience in domestic and cross-border mergers & acquisitions, equity and debt origination, due diligence, structured product management, strategic planning, risk management, and proprietary trading. Mr. Vankka was a founder of global energy investment bank Tristone Capital which was ultimately sold to Macquarie Group and before that co-head and principal at Peters & Co. Limited. Mr. Vankka also was Vice President, Risk Management at Gluskin Sheff + Associates.

Mr. Vankka holds Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Professional Accountant, and Chartered Accountant designations. He is registered as Portfolio Manager with the Alberta Securities Commissions and holds a Bachelor of Commerce with distinction from the University of Calgary.

David and his family are passionate skiers and can be found in the mountains at various Freeski competitions throughout the winter, followed by mountain biking, golfing and hiking throughout the summers.
