Executive Director
Alquity Investment Management
Renee has been working from home since the early 90’s initially with a Scottish based firm, Murray Johnstone, who was then purchased by Aberdeen in 2000. She independently covered the Canadian market from her home office in the Chicago area until it was unsustainable when assets rose in excess of $3B representing over 20 clients. Aberdeen agreed to allow Renee to continue working from home and opened an office in Toronto in 2009 and a single individual was hired. Renee continued to work from home in the role of Head of Canadian Business Development, commuting to Toronto and across Canada from Chicago as necessary. The Toronto based staff grew to 6 and the peak of the assets reached $17B in 2016. Aberdeen continued to allow Renee to work from home and kept her role as Head of Canadian Business Development.
She retired in 2018 with the merger of Standard Life, then 1 year later, joined Alquity Investment Management, a small UK based EM equity manager who takes a virtuous circle approach to management by creating jobs in the poorest areas of the world where they invest via revenues, providing employment to over 64,000 to date.
Founding Partner
Coach House Partners
Michael started his career on trade desk support over twenty years ago – and has never really left. Prior to establishing Coach House Partners, Michael led the Enterprise Engineering & Operations teams responsible for the Global Trading Floors at two of Canada’s top five banks. Within technology, Michael was always known as the technical expert and steadily climbed the management ranks. While in the trading rooms, “get me Fowler” was heard more and more. Michael’s established low level command of the trading environments made him the first call for real time fixes and uniquely qualified him to design and implement more robust longer term solutions. Through Coach House, Michael and his team continue to provide candid advice and expert solutions to banks, hedge funds and other non-financial clients that require secure and continuously available environments.
