Michael joined LFIS in September 2015. Michael is a credit derivatives expert with particular competence in trading, technology and mathematics and cross-asset expertise. Michael previously served as a senior correlation trader at Société Générale, from 2005 to 2011, where he was responsible for the correlation book. He then headed the US credit equity proprietary trading desk at BNP Paribas from 2011 to 2014, setting up statistical credit-equity arbitrage strategies based on quantitative signal detection and fundamental analysis. Michael graduated from Telecom Sud Paris and holds a Master’s degree in Probability and Finance from Paris VI University.

Scott Klein is a Founding Partner, Co-CEO and Co-CIO. Mr. Klein has been managing high yield bonds, bank loans and distressed debt portfolios and working on corporate restructurings for over 25 years. Before founding Beach Point Capital, Mr. Klein was Senior Managing Director at Post Advisory Group, where he spent over a decade helping grow the company from under $200 million in assets to over $10 billion. Mr. Klein was responsible for co-running the alternative business of Post Advisory and co-managing the Total Return, Distressed Debt, and Corporate Loan strategies. In the early 1990s, Mr. Klein spent several years as a bankruptcy attorney advising bondholders and creditors’ committees in Chapter 11 cases. Mr. Klein currently serves on the Board of Governors of Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Mr. Klein received dual bachelor’s degrees in economics and political science from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated magna cum laude, and a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law where he served on the Law Review

Paul Sandhu is President and CEO of Marret Asset Management Inc. He has over 30 years of domestic and international fixed-income experience. Prior to joining Marret in 2009, Paul was responsible for the global distribution of Canadian fixed-income and money market products at BMO Capital Markets. Through offices in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, New York, London and Hong Kong, Paul was directly responsible for advising some of the world’s largest fixed-income asset managers on portfolio strategy, asset mix, security selection, and alpha/beta generation. Paul’s career also includes positions with Goldman Sachs and Citibank in Europe, the U.S. and Canada.
Paul holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Victoria.

Naveed has more than 13 years of investment industry experience and joined the BMO Nesbitt Burns team in 2010 as an analyst on the Investment Fund Strategy team.
In his role of as Head of MASA, Naveed leads a team of investment professionals focused on manager research across BMO Private Wealth’s various platforms including SMA, mutual funds, ETFs, alternatives and structured products. The team is responsible for manager selection, oversight, recommendations, product approval, model portfolios and supporting Investment Advisors and Investment Councillors at BMO Private Wealth.
Prior to BMO, Naveed was at CI Institutional Asset Management as an Account Manager where he was responsible for managing strategic relationships including fund-of-funds, sub-advised accounts and fund analysts.
Naveed is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and has a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from Carleton Univers

Gord brings 27 years of investment industry experience to his role as founder and Managing Partner of Celernus. In addition to being the Managing Partner, Gord is the lead manager of the Celernus Mortgage and Income Trust Fund and the Celernus Absolute Growth Fund. He is also the assistant manager to Chris Grant for the Celernus Pivot Private Credit Fund. He holds an Honours B.A in economics from the University of Waterloo and a MBA from The Simon School at the University of Rochester in the State of New York.
