Exchange Traded Funds have been on the investment scene (invented in Canada in 1990) for 30 years and have grown precipitously to more than U$6 trillion in AUM globally and more than C$200 billion in Canada alone with evolutions including, commodity-linked products, active ETFs (both rules-based and truly-active), and alternative ETFs (in Canada).
Recent market shocks have reverberated through the mutual fund, privates fund, and ETF landscapes alike – and the volatility has caused some investors to rethink their allocations to these sectors and add money to those that they believe will ameliorate portfolio shocks in subsequent crises and provide a much-needed lift as market move through this COVID-19 year and perhaps emerge from it before long (we believe that would be a year or so out).
Why didn’t Oil ETFs go negative when crude printed at -$37? Why does liquidity matter? How do taxes work with ETFs? These questions and more will be revealed in this high-powered panel webinar.
