Nadim leads Northleaf’s Strategic Distribution & Marketing team which is responsible for new product development, sales strategy and analytics, marketing and communications, and expanding the distribution of Northleaf’s private market products with a focus on building solutions for retail, insurance and other market participants.

Previously, Nadim led Northleaf’s corporate development team. He started with Northleaf in 2014 as a member of the private equity investment team. Prior to joining Northleaf, Nadim was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company in Chicago in the Corporate Finance and Healthcare practices and worked on a broad range of strategy and operational engagements. He began his career with Northleaf’s predecessor, TD Capital, as an Associate.

Nadim received an M.B.A (Siebel Scholar) from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an A.B. (Cum Laude) in Economics from Harvard University.

Nick Westlind

Nick Westlind is Senior Vice-President, Head of Business Operations and Strategy at Mackenzie Investments.  In this role Nick is connected into all operational facets across the Mackenzie business.  Key responsibilities include partnering with business leaders to design and optimize processes to ensure quality and operational excellence; coordinating and overseeing key business and strategic initiatives; and identifying opportunities for continued business growth.

Nick brings over 20 years of experience within the asset management industry gained through progressively senior legal roles at Mackenzie/IGM Financial, and at another Canadian asset manager.  Prior to moving in-house, Nick started his career at a large Toronto law firm. 

Nick is a CFA Charter holder and earned Bachelor of Arts and LL.B degrees from Queen’s University.

Mr. Johnston is a Managing Director at iCapital and Business Head of their Canadian Funds Business.   He was previously the President of CI Institutional and CEO of UBS Global Asset Management (Canada) and has had prior roles in the past with Invesco and RBC.   He has extensive experience business strategy,  sales and servicing  (both wealth and institutional) and new product development including a wide range of asset classes including alternatives.   In addition to these roles Tom has also been a Chief Operating Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel. Mr. Johnston is a trusted industry leader and has was the Vice Chair and board member of the Portfolio Management Association of Canada (PMAC) and previously (3 years) was also Chair of its Industry Regulations and Tax Working Committee. Mr. Johnston earned a BA in History and Political Science from the University of Western Ontario, one of Canada’s leading universities, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Windsor. He remains a member of the Ontario Bar in good standing.
