A Principal within Eckler’s Investment Consulting practice, Jason joined the firm in 2006. He provides investment strategy advice to a wide range of institutional clients, including DB and DC pension plans, endowment/foundations, single family offices, corporations and non-profit organizations.
In addition to consulting responsibilities, Jason is a member of the Investment Research Steering Committee which oversees investment manager and strategy research.
Jason’s specific area of expertise is alternative investments including infrastructure, real estate and private equity/debt strategies.
An active volunteer within the pension and investment community, Jason has authored several articles and presented on investment strategy at numerous conferences. He is currently a member of the Canadian Investment Review Advisory Board, a volunteer on the CNIB’s National Investment & Pension Committee and a director with the National Ballet School Foundation.
Jason graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1999 with an Economics degree. He has also earned the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.

Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund
Darryl Orom is the Head of Absolute Return Investments at Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund (“ATRF”). He was responsible for the design and implementation of the Fund’s Absolute Return program in 2014 and leads an investment team focused on managing a policy allocation to liquid alternatives of 10%. In addition, Darryl participates in formulating the overall Fund’s investment strategy and asset allocation as a member of ATRF’s Management Investment Committee, Asset Allocation Committee and Portfolio Allocation committee.
Prior to joining ATRF, Darryl was a Senior Investment Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns and later National Bank Financial. In 2007 he joined Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund where he was responsible for the Fund’s external manager program until assuming responsibility for ATRF’s Absolute Return investments.
Darryl holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta, the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI)

Mike joined Alquity as Head of Asian Investments in 2014.
He graduated from the University of Southampton in 1994 with a first class degree in Economics and joined Baring Asset Management. Over the next 8 years he was manager of the Baring Peacock Fund, an open ended investment fund focusing on Indian equities. He also was appointed a Divisional Director of the firm, a member of the Emerging Markets Asset Allocation Committee and the Deputy Manager of the Global Resource Funds.
In 2004 he joined the Emerging Markets team at Thames River Capital as an Asian Fund Manager, a division which demerged to become Nevsky Capital. Over his 7 years at Thames River/Nevsky Capital, Mike was part of the team that grew the Emerging Market equity assets from US$150 million to US$3.5 Billion. In 2001 he moved to F&C, along with the management of the Traditional Funds Emerging Asia and Global Emerging Markets Funds where he was respectively the Manager and Co-Manager. He was additionally appointed Manager of the F&C Asian Alpha Fund in November 2012.

Eric Wong established TCG in 2003 as an asset management and financial advisory firm focused on investments with superior risk adjusted returns that are uncorrelated to major asset classes and advising family office and corporate clients. TCG’s Celera division was formed in 2012 to consolidate the financial and technology sector business of TCG and its Vauban division has been engaged in real assets financing since 2011.
Prior to TCG, Mr. Wong was involved with his family’s chemicals and electronics interests in Greater China which date back to 1918 in Shanghai, 1950 in Hong Kong and 1970 in Taiwan. He holds an M.S. in Biotechnology from the Kellogg Center for Biotechnology at Northwestern University, a B.A. in Molecular Biology from Pomona College and is FRM certified. Mr. Wong is also registered with the U.S. CFTC as the principal of a CTA/CPO and IB.
